Tax Tips That Helped Me Deal With a $10,000 Bill
1099s. W-2s. W-9s. Deductions. Mileage. Withholdings.
You know what these words mean: tax season is here.
And if you’re entrepreneur, you also know that filing your taxes can sometimes be, ahem, challenging. (I’m looking at you, Excel spreadsheets and envelopes stuffed full of receipts.)
Believe me, I get it. When I first started Financially Wise Women, I got stuck with a $10,000 tax bill.
Yes, you read that right. TEN THOUSAND dollars. As a brand-new business owner. “Shock” doesn’t even begin to describe how I felt.
Luckily, I had my background as a Certified Financial Planner to fall back on, and I’m so thankful for that. So after some frantic phone calls, deep breathing (and, full disclosure, more than a few tears), I was able to figure out a solution and get back on track.
Running your own business is hard, and not everyone comes from a finance background. So this week, I’m sharing tax tips via this Facebook Live with Entrepreneur that I hope help make tax season a little easier on you–and on your business, if you’re entrepreneur, too.
The questions I answer in the video come from people just like you and me, and they’re super-smart and valuable.
Once you watch the video, leave a comment and let me know which tax tip resonated with you the most.
And as always, don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about personal finance. I’m only a phone call away, so click here to set up your free Discovery Session today and let’s chat.
Sending you tons of money love this tax season and every day.
